Sci-Quest Science Center gears up for career season
HUNTSVILLE, AL. -– Sci-Quest Hands-On Science Center is gearing up for another season of career exploration with its Career Quest program designed for middle school, high school, and college students who have not made a career decision.
Career Quest runs from February through May of 2012 and focuses on different science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers identified as “high-growth” in the Tennessee Valley. During these programs, students can hear and meet career professionals from local companies and college representatives who will talk to students about local educational opportunities that will help them reach their career goals in various career topics.
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, Career Quest will kick-off with a focus in Biotechnology/Medical careers and on Thursday, Feb. 23, the career focus will be Environmental Technology.
“We have been excited to host Career Quest at Sci-Quest,” said Cyndy Morgan, executive director at Sci-Quest. “It is a great opportunity to show students how many careers are available in the subjects they find most interesting.”
Career Quest is sponsored by The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Madison County Commission.
Among the career topics featured at Career Quest this season are Robotics, Engineering, Cyber Security and IT/Communication. All Career Quest programs are from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Sci-Quest.
