Verizon Wireless hosting grand opening of its latest 'green' store in Mobile

Thursday, Jan. 12 - MOBILE, Ala. -- Verizon Wireless will celebrate the grand opening of the company’s latest “green” communications store in Mobile, Ala. The three-day weekend celebration will include special offers and events at the store location. The new store is located at 5235 Rangeline Service Rd. S., near Wal-Mart and across from Lowe’s.

In conjunction with the grand opening ceremony and to continue their commitment to domestic violence awareness and prevention, Verizon Wireless will donate a HopeLine grant to Penelope House to assist its domestic violence programs. Verizon Wireless will also host a HopeLine drive at the store this weekend to collect no longer used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any service provider to assist victims of domestic violence.

Utilizing state-of-the-art design to improve energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions, indoor air quality and recycling processes, the store is a significant achievement in environmental building design and has met the United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) criteria for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification.

The ribbon cutting ceremony and HopeLine grant presentation are set for Friday, Jan. 13 at 9:30 a.m. The customer appreciation weekend, featuring special offers on 4G LTE devices, runs from Friday, Jan. 13 through Sunday, Jan. 15.
